Me you ask?? Well.. I'm a regular guy. Today: I live here in Norway, currently in Trondheim, where I recently started working at St.Olavs Hospital as a resident in anesthesiology! Name: My full name is Stein-Vegar Johansen Age: Born in 1978.. do the math... Occupation: Medical doctor. Resident in Anesthesiology. Family: Single but have a son, 7 years old! Interests: Medicine, Computers, Scuba-diving, Guitar, motorcycling ++ Chat!?!: Yes. I used to be a real IRC-user... Now I mostly chat with Windows Live Messenger or in Facebook. I got a greeting from the pilot (only friendly of course!) :-) In the past: I was born 27. January 1978 I grew up in a little town called Kirkenes, far north in Norway (we have snow every winter for about 6 months!!) As I reached 8. grade,(13 years old) I decided I wanted to become a doctor of medicine! I've gone to school every day for 13 years..(until spring '97) But the last year was cind of half-time school, half time work! And I actually worked in a toy-store! selling little barbie girls and cars for small children (that was a nice time..). Actually that business had been in the family for several years, and when it was sold, I got a part-time job for a year. And then I also had a dirty job for a local news-paper. But at spring 1997, I was happy with my graduation, and I moved on to becoming a student! That summer I actually had a job as a stationary guard at an industrial-field at home. Quite boring job with some looong nights.... August, 1997: I moved to Tromsø, taking a ground-course in medicine.. I really like this life.. meeting new peoples, and getting new friends.... Party every weekend.. yeah.. :) Summer 1998: I got a job as a paramedic at the ambulance service in my hometown, Kirkenes. This was really fun, and interesting! I'm now really sure that medicine is my future! August, 1998: Moving back to Tromsø, as a student of medicine at the University! July, 1999: Passing my first exam.. a big one. Now I don't have any big exams before spring 2002 :) Summer 1999: I had to take the recruit training in the military this summer.. a bit bad because I couldn't job and earn as much money as I wanted.... but I survived.. August 2001: Got a baby boy together with my girlfriend! We couldn't stay together though.. but Erlend stays at both his mom and his dad! July 2002: Passing the largest excam so far in my life.. it's from all classes the last three years.. May-June 2004: The final exam!! It's one full day written one.. and 4 oral exams with patient excamination and questioning!! Hope I pass!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) 16. June 2004: I PASSED THE EXAM!!!!! Yeeee!! We're officially getting our degree the 18th in a sermony! Will have picture of this here in time... August 2004: Moved to Kirkenes to complete my internship.. 6 months internal medicine, 6 months surgery and 6 months as a general practitioner. February 2006:Started as a resident doctor in anesthesiology at Kirkenes Sykehus. Giving anesthesia for surgery and caring for critically ill patients. November 2006: Started as a resident in internal medicine at Kirkenes Sykehus. Alså as a side-job i was a teacher for medical students for the University of Tromsø. August 2008: I decided that i wanted back to anesthesiology! I got a job at St.Olavs Hospital i Trondheim. This is a university-hospital, and i can complete my education to be a specialist anesthesiologist here if I want.. we'll have to see what happens! December 2008: With high appartment-rental prices I got tired of renting appartments. So I bought one.. and all in Financial crisis time and everything... :) Me on my Yamaha DreamStar XVS 1100! Another one of Erlend!! :) Future Plans: I don't really have lots of plans.. I guess I want to finish my specialists education in anesthesiology.. Then we'll see what happens.
